Achint Kaur is one of the most dynamic personalities in our television industry who has always generated an overwhelming response essaying substantial characters in every project she has taken up.
While viewers missed her on the small screen for some time, she is now back with a bang in Zee TV’s latest offering Jamai Raja (Sagar Pictures and Grazing Goat Pictures).
With smile and excitement on her face, Achint talks about her role, “Television is a medium where if one starts essaying negative characters, you get stuck in the rut for another 9 years. I have done around 35 shows in the 19 years of my career and to gain sanity, I was on a break from television and concentrated on theatre and films. I am now back again to do better work on television.”
Now that the beautiful lady is back to enchant the audience as the exotic high class mother, Achint states, “Well it was a strategic decision from my end to take up the show. I really liked my look in the show and the best part is that I play my age. My character is contemporary and real and that is something which attracted me.”
While the actor played an amazing role as Shipra Masi in the Bollywood movie 2 States, Achint mentions she would be seen more on the 70mm too.
Achint shares, “I am very comfortable with television and theatre. I don’t know from where this ambition of doing solid substantial roles in Bollywood came about. I hope to have a footing in all the mediums and make some good contributions in every industry.”
Elaborating on her fondness for Nia Sharma, who plays her on-screen daughter in Jamai Raja, she says, “I was one of the first actors to be finalized for the show. When I saw Nia visit the production house for a look test I told the team that she will be a perfect match to essay my daughter as we both have some similarities in terms of looks. She is like a baby to me in real also. Apart from that, this is the first show where the actors are extremely punctual on the sets and I am elated about this fact as I am a little psychotic about punctuality.”
Good luck Achint!!!
